 Abstract:  Maude Comstock Waitt (1875-1935) was a Lakewood, Ohio, politician and first woman elected to the Ohio Senate from Cuyahoga County. Waitt was active in the woman's suffrage movement and was a pioneer in woman's participation in city, state and national affairs. The collection consists of clippings, programs, correspondence, photos, and memorabilia relating to Waitt's political career and civic activities, and to her husband, Walter G. Waitt, and his career at National Carbon Company. The collection pertains largely to Waitt's involvement in Cleveland area politics, including the woman's suffrage movement and her interest in civic clubs such as the Lakewood Woman's Club.

The collection consists of a transcript of an oral history interview, a Bachelor's thesis, newspaper clippings, articles and speeches by Irwin, correspondence (primarily concerning U.S.-Arab-Israeli relations), and publications from organizations to which Irwin belonged.

 Abstract:  Katharine Dooris Sharp was a Zanesville, Ohio, suffragette and author who married Dr. H.J. Sharp of London, Ohio. She was a member of the Ohio Woman Suffrage Association, and president of the Woman's Elective Franchise Association. The collection consists of scrapbooks of newspaper clippings, letters, printed material on the medical careers of H.J. and Wilfrid Sharp, and photocopies of letters and newspaper clippings on Mrs. Sharp's suffrage activities.
